Dr. David Wong
(DDS, MDS | Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology)Board Certified in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery
Dr. David Wong was raised in Lewisville, Texas and a graduate of Lewisville High School. He graduated with honors from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Minor. Dr. Wong earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas and there he worked as a general dentist in private practice. Dr. Wong went on to do 3 more years of specialty training in a surgical residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where he was awarded his periodontal specialty certificate and masters in dental science for his thesis research.
He received advanced training on periodontal surgery/therapy, Implant dentistry, treatment of full oral rehabilitation cases, and Intravenous Sedation to help keep patients comfortable. While in Memphis, Dr. Wong had the opportunity to work at the Memphis VA Hospital treating medically compromised patients and training in Intravenous sedation. In addition, he teaches as a part time faculty at the university level. Having worked as a general dentist as well, this experience allows Dr. Wong to understand the treatment from a restorative and surgical perspective- helping patients with more complex treatment cases.
Dr. Wong is a Board Certified Specialist in Periodontology and Implant Surgery, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is a member and active in various organizations such as American Academy of Periodontics, South West Society of Periodontics, Texas Dental Association, North Texas Dental Association, and American Dental Association. He has written and published articles on guided bone regeneration membranes and soft tissue graft techniques.
A traumatic dental accident left him with multiple periodontal surgery at a young age, Dr. Wong understands and appreciates the positive impact it has. He still carries this same passion and motivation to help patients heal through their need for periodontal therapy. This passion led Dr. Wong putting patient care first above all else. He is trained in the most advanced techniques in periodontics and continues to develop new skills. Above all, he wants to ensure all his patients receive the attention and care they most deserve.
